Courtney joins the Advantage College Planning team with a background in teaching and school counseling. Courtney has successfully worked with hundreds of students from a wide range of educational backgrounds in her time as a school counselor in both public and private schools. Courtney prides herself in taking the time to cultivate a relationship with her students and strives to provide a highly personalized path towards success for every student.
Courtney holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a minor in Biology from Daytona State College and began her career in 2012 as a middle school science teacher in Palm Coast, FL. During her four years as a teacher, she worked on the AVID team to provide academic guidance and support to students and their future aspirations. As her desire to make an impact on students grew stronger, she made the decision to transition out of teaching and into school counseling. Courtney earned her Master’s Degree in School Counseling in 2018 from the University of North Florida (Jacksonville, FL). Courtney spent the majority of her graduate internship working with high school seniors and navigating them through the college application process.
In her spare time, Courtney enjoys traveling, relaxing by her pool with a good book and most importantly spending time with her husband James and two children, Landen and Beckett.
