Jamie Pack
COLLEGE PLANNING CONSULTANT
Jamie joined Advantage College Planning after 6 years of working in public and private universities in Tennessee. While working in academic advising, major and career development, and community engagement, she frequently saw her students struggling with the idea of “fit” years into their college careers. An advocate for student success, Jamie was drawn to college planning through her determination to lessen the number of college students asking “What am I even doing here?” Jamie’s intention for her students is that they will graduate from high school having made an informed decision about “what’s next” that comes from thoughtfully understanding who they are and who they hope to become over the next four years.
A lover of words, Jamie has also worked as a writing coach since her grad school days. Most recently before joining Advantage College Planning, she worked as a college essay specialist and currently writes over at The Inside Scoop, Advantage College Planning’s blog. Jamie loves helping students discover their voice through telling their story, and she can teach you to master comma usage in under 5 minutes.
Jamie earned her BA from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina and her MA from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She has also completed a graduate certificate in College Counseling from the University of California, Los Angeles.
When she isn’t working with students, Jamie loves to travel. She and her husband spent 2018 living abroad in 12 different countries and one 2-week ocean crossing! She has a dog, Piper, who acts like a cat and a cat, Oswin, who acts like a dog. She loves to read and to garden, and is always in need of more shelves to hold new novels and new houseplants.
